Top Indian Wedding Photography Trends to Look Out for in 2025

As we move into 2025, Indian weddings are continuing the trend we saw in 2024—couples are prioritizing comfort, quality time with loved ones, and creating fun, memorable experiences for everyone involved. Gone are the days of big, overwhelming guest lists and cookie-cutter celebrations. Instead, we’re seeing more intimate affairs that focus on meaningful moments, personalized details, and a laid-back vibe. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’re predicting for next year’s weddings!

1. Smaller, Intimate Weddings: While grand celebrations will still thrive, smaller, more intimate weddings with curated guest lists are on the rise. These weddings allow couples to focus on luxury, personalization, and meaningful experiences for their closest family and friends. Especially after COVID, we’re finding couple’s are prioritizing their guest experience with a more intimate affair. We personally love shooting these smaller weddings (compared to 500+ guest count) because it allows us to capture more meaningful candid moments. And the smaller guest count let’s you enjoy more time with the people you love.

2. Non-Traditional Wedding Attire: Brides and grooms are moving beyond the traditional wedding attire. Expect colorful lehengas, sarees with modern twists, and even jumpsuits and pantsuits that allow for more personal expression. Gone are the days of overly large and complicated outfits. Bride and grooms are opting more comfortable outfits to allow for me freedom on the dance floor and without losing any of the wow factor.

3. Street Food & Food Trucks: Couples are opting for a fun, casual dining experience with food trucks offering everything from gourmet tacos to artisanal ice creams, creating a relaxed atmosphere where guests can enjoy delicious bites on their own time. This is especially true for Sangeet nights where we’re seeing a lot more fun and unique appraches to the event.

4. Sustainable Wedding Practices: Eco-conscious couples will continue to lean into sustainability, opting for locally sourced flowers, silk floral arrangements, and using recycled decor. We’ve spoken to many brides who are looking for stragetic ways to save money on decor. We always suggest looking into silk flowers, which stands up better to outdoor elements and looks just as nice as real florals. We’re also seeing couples reuse homemade decor for smaller home events. You can easily change up the look by using different floral arrangements and color schemes.

5. Film Photography: We’re seeing a huge surge in interests in film photography and it’s making its way back into wedding photography. The grainy texture and vintage feel are perfect for creating timeless memories. There’s something fun about the experimental and unexpected results of film photos. Some studios will only offer film photography while others (like us!) continue to capture everything digitially and shoot a few rolls of film throughout the day.
